Victorian Wooden Saddle-Seat Stool
A low stool with a thick rectangular elm seat, dished across the middle from long use, on four splayed ring-turned legs braced by an H-stretcher. The paint has worn off the leg edges to bare wood and the seat has darkened at the centre. Made for a kitchen or a workshop, and pressed into service ever since as a step, a table and a seat.
