Swing Dressing Mirror on Plinth Base, full view

Swing Dressing Mirror on Plinth Base

A dressing mirror in figured mahogany, the rounded rectangular plate swinging between turned uprights with ball finials and knurled thumbscrews, above a moulded plinth base on flattened bun feet. The plate is original, softly clouded at one edge, and the figure across the plinth is unusually good. It tilts to any angle and stays there, which is the whole engineering problem solved in 1850.
