Stripped Beech Balloon-Back Chair
A single balloon-back chair in beech, stripped back to the bare pale timber, with a shaped mid-rail, a solid saddled seat and cabriole front legs above turned stretchers. Old repairs are visible at the crest joint and left unhidden. Stripped chairs like this are the reason paint remover was invented, and occasionally regretted.
