Pie-Crust Tilt-Top Tripod Table, full view

Pie-Crust Tilt-Top Tripod Table

A tripod tilt-top table with a circular top carved from the solid in a scalloped pie-crust edge, above a gun-barrel and spiral-turned column and three cabriole legs carved with acanthus at the knee, ending in ball and claw feet. The top tilts on a birdcage with its original brass catch. A great deal of carving for a table that only ever holds a teapot.
