Mahogany Side Table with Lifting Top
A mahogany side table on four boldly spiral-twisted legs with brass castors, the moulded top hinging up to reveal a shallow lined well within the frame. The mahogany is a deep faded red and the twist carving is crisp throughout. A handwritten note that came with it dates the table to about 1856 and records the aunt who left it to the writer's father.
