Mahogany Chest of Three Long Drawers

A chest of three graduated long drawers in mahogany, with cast brass ring handles on fluted backplates, fine boxwood stringing to the drawer fronts and shaped bracket feet. The lowest drawer is cut to look like two, a device as old as the form itself. The colour is warm and the drawers still run true, which after two centuries is worth saying out loud.
