Fan-Back Spindle Chair with Tapestry Seat

A tub-shaped chair with a fan of slender spindles rising from a curved seat rail to a scrolled crest, above a drop-in seat in a woven tapestry of foliage and urns, on cabriole legs with pad feet and a studded border. The spindles are perfectly even and the tapestry is unfaded. Sculpturally more interesting from behind than in front, which is unusual and rather good.
