Dovetailed Box with Fitted Baize Trays
A hardwood box with hand-cut through dovetails at every corner, a brass hasp to the front and a hinged lid, the interior and both lift-out trays lined in green baize with fitted compartments. The timber has a warm reddish colour and the baize is clean throughout. Whatever it was made to hold was clearly worth a great deal of careful joinery.
