Collection of Victorian Printed Pot Lids
A group of Victorian ceramic pot lids, each transfer-printed in full colour with a scene: courting couples in street dress, a wild boar in woodland, a harbour crowded with figures, and wooded country views. Several carry printed titles below the image. One lid is cracked across, shown in the gallery. They were the packaging of their day, kept because the pictures were better than the contents.
